More and more people are snapping up cheap property abroad and choosing to have a seconded property which they can enjoy for those long weekends and summer breaks. For younger couples her are finding it increasingly harder to secure a mortgage moving abroad is now a very plausible option. For a lot of people living abroad does have its highlights, you’re going to have a better climate and live for a lot cheaper. Although foreign healthcare is very different depending on the country and also some countries will have very different cultures to what you might be use to or expect, so do your research!

Insurance can be forgot about when people are searching for a new property however it still remains one the most important factors. Insurance for holiday homes is very important because when a property is unoccupied it is a greater insurance risk. Depending on circumstances some property abroad can be left empty for months. Do not put this off you definitely are going to need overseas property insurance, make sorting out insurance a priority and don’t leave it too late because if you rush you risk the chance of choosing the wrong policy. Language can be a big barrier when trying to sort out insurance abroad. Don’t jump in, there will be many insurance companies in your native country so research into which policy is right for you.

Even when looking for a holiday home/cottage in the UK insurance is again very important. Holiday cottage insurance and home insurance sometimes have restrictions remember to read all the terms and conditions and think about exactly what you want to insure, for example weather you want full building and content insurance or both.

Ive had enough of the big city, with its pollution and way too many people. You can easily loose your identity and feel like a number, so I’m off to the seaside if possible. The sites, fresh air and lovely change of scenery are not the only reasons that we have made the trip down here. Our trip around the town is to try and find a new house, where we can begin a new life.

When we arrived in the town, we headed straight for the beach and the noticed that the tide was out along way in the distance. Worthing is an unusual place at a low tide, because the sea goes out much further than the end of the pier. People often dig their fresh baits in the sand and walk the full distance from one side of the pier to the other. i have memories of a trip here with my father years ago on a similar low tide day, and remember him laughing at something. He pointed to a fisherman on the pier, who had dozed off and not noticed that the tide had long ago gone out. There was no water to be seen anywhere, and his float was resting on a small pile of sand!

With our newly purchased copy of the Worthing Echo, we began to look for any local housing Worthing estate agents. One thing that caught my eye was the large section entitled commercial property sussex which seemed to be offering plenty of properties. Perhaps I was seeing the direct results of failing businesses and repossessed business premises that has re-entered the market place.

I was keen on buying an old Victorian town house that could do my DIY, but my wife was not so interested in the idea. She would have been content in a new house outside of the town, and had been concentrating on another area of the paper. Her eye had focused on the adjacent advertisement entitled new homes in West Sussex, which had a wider reach than the town centre.

Should your vacation home offer keyless entry?

This question is becoming an ever popular one among vacation home owners. As someone who experiences first hand guest are quite pleased with the new keyless entry systems. There are many variations of keyless entry. Personally I think keyless entry systems that use codes vs. some sort of magnetic swipe like hotel keys are much preferred by guests. With the code they only have to commit 1 simple number to memory. There is no losing the card. For many homes on the Outer Banks, Oracode is becoming one of the preferred types of keyless entry system. It offers many advantages for both the property management company and the guest. The #1 thing it offers home owners is the ability to audit who has been in and out of their home.

Perhaps the only negative with the Oracode system is that you seem to have to punch the numbers in slowly. Other than that guests seem to enjoy the ease with which they can check in and out. Often guests do not even have to stop at the rental company. That truly saves the guest time and hassle especially if reaching the home requires them to get back in traffic.
